The GTA series is now over ten years old, It started with games on the Ps1 and is now available on Ps2, 3 and xbox.
Distribution
GTA IV was released on April 29th 08. It was released on xbox 360 and ps3, and the release of the game simultaneously on both console was a first for the game franchise.
Marketing
GTA advertising was placed on billboards and posters across the globe. It has been on the cover of nearly all video game magazines, and had its own article in the observer.
Consumption
Within 24 hours of its release, GTA established itself with the status of 'a must play game'. The game is classified as an 18, and caused mass controversy.
