Production

The first game was a complete success which launched the Crash Bandicoot franchise, and Crash Nitro Kart was the first game of the franchise to take to a driving genre, which wasnt as succesful but was still a good game, for everyone to play.

Developer: Vicarious visions ( They also developed games like Guitar Hero and and the Transformers games.)
Publisher: Universal Interactive, this company also distrubuted the games.

The game has most of the original characters in from the previous Crash games but also has new unlockable karts and characters.
The characters of the game were designed by series veteran Charles Zembillas, while the environments were designed by Joe Pearson (another veteran of the series), John Nevarez, Alan Simmons and Di Davies. The karts were designed by Perry Zombolis Jr. and Andy Lomerson.

The soundtrack of the game was composed by Ashif Hakik and Todd Masten of Womb Music. These composers also composed the music for the early x-men franchise.
